Why should I hold a Get to Great Day?
It is said that the definition of insanity is ‘doing the same thing again and again in the hope that the result will be different’, or put another way, ‘if you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got’. Whichever version you prefer, it has to be said that both are true.
In a business context, companies and employees are often guilty of just ‘getting on with job’, day in, day out, and this can turn into ‘year in, year out’ very quickly. Times change, but the way we do things often doesn’t.
To overcome this, business need to take an occasional ‘day out’ from ‘getting on with the job’ and apply a little self examination. However, we believe there are several drawbacks to this excellent idea:

Someone must step up and lead/manage the process, often ‘the boss’, which can create problems with openness

There is nobody to constructively ‘challenge’ thinking and ideas
